Majestik Sauvignon Blanc/Sultaniye 2019 'A joyful party wine from Turkey.'
Majestik Sauvignon Blanc/Sultaniye 2019
It was a Bulgarian immigrant who moved to Turkey in 1942 who masterminded a revolution in wine making in that country. Today the grandsons of Isa Güner run his Sevilen wine business, which translates as 'beloved'. There are 160 hectares of vines and they are regarded as the premium producers of Turkish wine. This wine is a great example, a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (50%) and Sultiniye (50%), the grapes are handpicked from the high-altitude vines, ferment in stainless steel and age on the lees before bottling. And what a bottle! Floral notes, a hint of tropical fruit and a full-bodied, yet refreshing finish. It's an easy sip, it's a party wine, it loves the sunshine and if you can't get to Turkey this year, its spirit is coming right at you here baby! Alc12%. Synthetic cork.
