Les Templiers Chardonnay 2021

Grown in the Languedoc region of France, the appellation of Pays des Côtes de Thongue (if you're asking) here is a chardonnay whose vines are nurtured in limestone soils and whose grapes harvested at night when the fruit is ripe and the pickers are drunk (ok, I'm kidding about the drunk bit). And it's not that they have terrible insomnia, they prefer to pick the grapes when the weather is at its coolest to protect the grapes.

The juice ferments in steel tanks before bottling. So there's no oak and no funny business.

The result is a clean, crisp wine with a rounded finish. If you love great chardonnay, this is a real treat at the price. A smart-tasting glass of white, delightfully dry, it's a wonderful aperitif but also a perfect foil for chicken or salmon.
